New eLearning module now available!

We’ve added a brand new online eLearning module for antenatal screening, using ASSIST-Lite

The online course for midwives features two sessions, exploring substance use in pregnancy, and how to support at-risk women and their babies using the ASSIST-Lite antenatal screening tool.

These course provides valuable insights into:
– Understanding and addressing substance use during pregnancy.
– Administering the ASSIST-Lite Antenatal questionnaire effectively.
– Engaging in sensitive conversations about substance use with expectant mothers.
– Implementing brief interventions using the FRAMES model.
– Connecting to specialist Alcohol and Other Drug services for additional support and resources.

Why is this important?
Substance use during pregnancy poses significant risks to both mother and baby

The Antenatal ASSIST-Lite helps healthcare professionals:
– Identify potential substance use issues early.
– Provide appropriate advice and support.
– Refer to specialist services when necessary.
